Judith Sephuma is a celebrated South African jazz and Afro-pop vocalist, renowned for her powerful vocal performances and unique musical style.

Over the course of her two-decade career, Sephuma has released numerous critically acclaimed albums and established herself as one of the country’s premier recording artists.

Early Life and Education

Judith Sephuma was born on June 29, 1974 in Seshego, Limpopo Province, South Africa.

She was raised in the city of Polokwane, also in Limpopo. In 1994, Sephuma moved to Cape Town to pursue her studies in jazz vocals.

From a young age, Sephuma knew she wanted a career in music. After completing her secondary education at Khagiso High School, she attended the FUBA Academy music school in Johannesburg in 1993, where she obtained her Grade 5 Music Diploma.
