Julian Hochberg
American psychologist (1923–2022)
Julian Edward Hochberg[1] (July 10, 1923 – May 22, 2022)[2] was an American psychology researcher and the Centennial Professor Emeritus of Psychology at Columbia University.
Gil Hochberg is Ransford Professor of Hebrew and Comparative Literature, and Middle East Studies at Columbia University and Chair of MESAAS.Much of Hochberg's research involved visual perception. Before coming to Columbia, Hochberg taught at Cornell University and New York University. He was a member of the National Academy of Sciences.
Biography
Hochberg was born in Brooklyn on July 10, 1923 to Edward Hochberg and Dora Wiener Hochberg.[3][2] He attended Stuyvesant High School,[2] then City College of New York, graduating in 1945 with an undergraduate degree in physics.
